Transportation

Road
Main roads are in good condition. However, it is advised to avoid driving by night.

Rail
Lack of comfort and very long journeys.

Air
The fleet is essentially composed of old jets coming from Russia. However, Cuban airlines begin to equip themselves with Airbus and ATR on the regional and domestic networks. However, over the past three years, these companies had four major accidents, two of which late in 1999. The company Cubana de Aviacion requires the confirmation of return bookings. This one must be necessarily made more than 3 workdays before the date of return. Besides, this company tends, especially at a regional level, to postpone or even cancel its flights with no previous notice.
