FITA's General Liability Insurance

October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008
Carrier: St. Paul - Travelers

A cost-effective General Liability Insurance Policy is available to members of the Federation of International Trade Associations (FITA) without regular office space.

General Liability Insurance protects against claims resulting from bodily injury (BI) or property damage to a third party (PD) in connection with many of the events* scheduled by FITA member associations.

Associations need General Liability Insurance because of the exposure present when sponsoring or hosting meetings and covered events. While the frequency of General Liability claims among associations like yours is low, the severity of claims when the do occur can be extraordinary. Additionally, hotels, restaurants, and other facilities where you conduct events are requiring evidence of General Liability Insurance coverage.

*Covered events" include activities such as monthly meetings, luncheons and educational seminars. It does not cover "special events" which include golf tournaments, dances, dinners with more than 100 attendees, BBQ's and water events. If coverage is needed, a separate special event policy would need to be purchased. Please contact the Novick Group to determine if your events require a special event policy.

Liability Limits: All participating associations will share in the following:

Each Occurrence $1,000,000
Personal & Advertise Injury $1,000,000
Fire, Legal $100,000
Medical payments $5,000
Aggregate (for all claims in year) $2,000,000

Click here for a full summary of the coverage in this program.

Each participating association is provided a certificate of insurance from a master policy issued to FITA - The Federation of International Trade Associations. Please return your enrollment form and check by September 25, 2007.

The FITA policy is underwritten by Travelers - St. Paul - a leader in the insurance industry. The plan is administered by The Novick Group, an insurance broker specializing in the needs of non-profit organizations.
