Technology Controls & Deemed Exports 1 ½ day program May 12-13, 2010
The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security and FITA are pleased to present an Export Administration Regulations seminar on “Technology Controls and Deemed Exports” in Arlington, Virginia.
This is a 1 ½ day intensive program that will cover key regulatory information related to exports and transfers of technology (technical data or technical assistance). Under the Export Administration Regulations, “technology” is considered specific information necessary for the “development,” “production,” or “use” of a product. This topic is of high importance to companies that hire foreign nationals and academic institutions that involve foreign nationals in their research activities.
Topics will include:
- Commerce Control List Classification of Technology
- License Exceptions Useful for Technology & Software
- Release of Technology to Foreign Nationals
- Publicly Available Technology
- Technology Issues for Academic Institutions
