WELCOME
http://www.fita.org
Here's your latest issue of Really Useful Sites for International Trade Professionals. This free bi-weekly newsletter reviews useful Web sites from the Web Resources database at FITA's International Trade/ Import-Export Portal at http://fita.org, an excellent source for trade leads, news, events, and a link library of 7,000+ sites related to international trade.
Please feel free to pass this newsletter on to others.
My name is John McDonnell, and for years I wrote a weekly e- newsletter that profiled business-oriented Web sites. Now I'm using my Web research skills to find sites that are useful for international trade, as well as some fun sites that you'll enjoy visiting.

JOHNNY JET
http://www.johnnyjet.com/Portal1.html
We've all been bored in our hotel room at one time or another,
and sometimes the only solution is to make a paper airplane.
That's why I like Johnny Jet at www.johnnyjet.com/Portal1.html. It's a travel portal that not only has links to sites where
you can book flights, hotel rooms, and cars online, but also a
link to a diagram of how to make a paper airplane (under the
category of "Bored in Hotel Room"). Johnny Jet covers all bases
when it comes to travel. It has links to airline seating charts,
aiport maps and information, diagrams of commercial jetliners,
restaurant guides, city maps, travel guides, airline ticket
auctions, weather reports, flight tracking, and much more.

ARGENTINA BUSINESS
http://www.invertir.com/default2.htm
There are big changes going on in Argentina these days, and
change can bring opportunity for the savvy businessperson. A good
portal for doing business in Argentina is at Fundación Invertir
Argentina at www.invertir.com/default2.htm. This site has
news and information about trade with Argentina, setting up a
business in the country, traveling, legal matters, economic
statistics, and cultural tips, to name just a few items of
interest.
There are lots more links to Argentina at the FITA site. Go to
fita.org/webindex, click on Regional Resources
and Multi-Lateral Trading Areas in the left column or "Search by Country or Region" in the right column, and then
Latin America and Caribbean and select Argentina
in the pop-up window. Or simply type Argentina in the search box at
www.fita.org.

TRAVEL SAFETY
http://www.fco.gov.uk/travel
Since September 11, anyone who travels has to be concerned with
safety and security. You'll find lots of information at the UK
Foreign & Commonwealth Office at www.fco.gov.uk/travel.
This is a British Government site, but the information is valid
for anyone who is traveling. There is breaking news, information
about traveling in specific countries, traveler's tips, advice on
what to do if something goes wrong, and more.
The U.S. State Department site has a page of Travel Warnings at travel.state.gov/travel_warnings.html that also has information to ensure you have a safe trip.

WINTER OLYMPICS
http://www.cbc.ca/olympics
I've never been skiing, and the last time I went ice skating I
spent most of the time holding on to my kids for dear life, so
I'm no expert on winter sports. However, I do like to watch the
Winter Olympics on tv, and I'll be tuned in when they start in a
few weeks. I'll also visit CBC Sports 2002 Winter Olympics at www.cbc.ca/olympics to get the latest information about
what's happening in Salt Lake City. This is a Canadian
Broadcasting site, but it's already got lots of background
information on the athletes, no matter what country they're from.
When the games start there'll be breaking news and pictures, so
this is one site to bookmark for the beginning of February.
