OUR FEATURED COUNTRY: Thailand
After political turmoil in 2014, Thailand’s economy is recovering in 2015. US – Thailand relations continue to be close. Both countries participated in the Cobra Gold 2015, the region’s largest joint military exercise and a delegation of leading US agriculture and food companies, organized by the US Asean- Business Council, recently visited Bangkok.

According to 2014 US Census data, trade between the United States and Thailand totaled 38.9 billion USD. The United States exported a total value of 11.8 billion USD and imported 27.1 billion worth of goods. As the trade balance is favorable to Thailand, the US is one of its most important trading partners.

The US is mainly importing Thai electrical and non-electrical machinery and rubber products and is mostly exporting electrical machinery, precious stones and agricultural products to Thailand.

After a slowdown in 2014, due to the political unrest, Thailand’s growth forecast is positive and could achieve an increase of GDP of 3.5 to 4 % for 2015 and 2016. Thailand is well integrated in the global value chain and can easily satisfy US demand in goods, while its growth forecast is likely to increase domestic consumption and accelerate investment, creating opportunities for US companies.

Those opportunities for business have two sources: Thailand’s re-accelerating growth, after the 2014 political crisis and the dynamic growth of its two of key sectors: tourism and electronics.

MARKET STUDIES ON THAILAND
Overview of the industrial real-estate market in Bangkok, Thailand

Regardless of a slackening economy in the last half of 2013, Thailand's industrial estate market still has a great potential to
continuously grow in the coming year due to the increase in demand and new supply. If the political issues were solved, Thailand would be one of the most desirable targets for international firms because of its beneficial regulation for foreign firms’ relocation and investment.
